China’s gold jewellery consumption up slightly in Jan-Sept period
China consumed a total of 754.82 tonnes of gold during the first nine months of the year, down 21.42 percent year on year, according to data released by the China Gold Association.
Gold jewellery consumption was slightly up 0.45 percent year on year to 581.38 tonnes. However, the consumption of gold bars declined 62.58 percent to 119.42 tonnes compared to the same period last year.
China produced 351.727 tonnes of gold in the first three quarters of the year, up 14.27 percent year on year, according to the association.
