The range of baby and children’s jewellery available in the market continues to expand, so what are the trends for this year?

Baby, children and teen jewellery is fast becoming a cemented category within the industry.

With suppliers’ junior collections now moving beyond simple ID bracelets and brooches, the jewellery market for children is increasing with an abundance of options.

Traditional gift opportunities, such as christenings and birthdays, are also no longer the only time families and friends splash out on adornments. What’s more, children of all ages are having a bigger part in deciding who and what jewellery pieces they wear than ever before. Consider all of this and it becomes clear as to why the sector is evolving.

The competition is increasing across the Australian and New Zealand market, with the local distributor for stackable charm bangle brand Chrysalis announcing the introduction of a children’s range in late in 2015. The supplier joins the likes of Disney Couture, Paterson Fine Jewellery and Twin Plaza Metals, which all offer collections for kids.

With more suppliers heading into this category, let’s take a look at what local and international suppliers have in store for the children’s jewellery market in 2016.
