India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council
India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), in partnership with the Surat Diamond Association (SDA), will host the India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME) at the International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Surat from November 28 to 30.
The inaugural edition in 2013 saw 75 exhibitors spread across 100 stalls. This year’s edition has grown bigger and will showcase the latest equipment and technologies from around 85 exhibitors. The fair will have 135 stalls featuring international and domestic suppliers of machinery, tools and equipment, and new technologies for diamond, jewellery and gemstone manufacturing. Service providers, packaging vendors, IT and software specialists, and trade publications will also participate in the fair.
“Technology always plays a significant role in the growth and development of any industry, and helps us prepare for the future. Surat is the hub of India’s massive gemstone and jewellery manufacturing sector, and through IGJME, we hope to attract decision-makers not only from the surrounding regions but all over India,” GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah said.
Around 5,000 decision-makers from the jewellery and gemstone manufacturing, and retail sectors are expected to attend the technology fair. Seminars focusing on the current and future needs of the industry will also be held.
Speaking about the event, Nirav Bhansali, exhibitions convener at GJEPC, said, “We are confident that this show will attract decision-makers and production heads who are constantly looking for new technologies.”
The fair will feature the latest equipment and tools from Turkey, Israel and the US. Leading brands such as Alpress, Eksen, Guvenis, Nokta Model and Tarzz Model will be participating in the machinery show.
