An India-based diamond manufacturer recently gave away cars, homes and jewellery worth $8 million to its employees as incentives for meeting their sales targets, according to a recent report.
Savjibhai Dholakia of Hari Krishna Exports Private Ltd reportedly distributed 491 cars, about 600 pieces of diamond jewellery and 200 apartments to over 1,200 personnel in celebration of Diwali,
washingtonpost.com reported.
The diamond manufacturer employs 7,500 people worldwide.
Since 2012, Dholakia has been giving away lavish rewards to his employees. Last year, he gifted cars to 72 members of his staff.
“I am not a socialist, I am a businessman, but I don’t spend money on charity for strangers. I do social work for the people who toil for my company. I share the profit with the people who created the profit,” Dholakia was quoted as saying.
