Fancy vivid yellow diamond
A 31.01-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond ring sold for HK$20.06 million (about $2.59 million) at Poly Auction Hong Kong’s autumn sale, the auction house said recently.
The jewellery pieces sold at the auction fetched a total of HK$127.68 million ($16.45 million).
One of the auction’s highlights was a jadeite bangle, which sold for HK$10.62 million ($1.37 million). Several other gemstones and jadeite went for more than HK$10 million ($1.29 million), the auction house said.
“This season, we’ve offered our most discerning collectors the rarest and finest jewellery, including antique jewels, fancy coloured diamonds and jadeite, some of which are from international design brands. Works designed by Chinese jewel masters were sold at high prices, and white jade [creations] by emerging designers also achieved good results. We are happy to see that the rare jewels maintained recognition and popularity among collectors and jewel investors,” said Yu Wenhao, head of the jewels and watches department of Poly Auction.
