Mid-autumn festival boosts bridal jewellery sales in Nanjing
China’s traditional bridal jewellery season, starting from September and the Mid-Autumn Festival, helped lift sales at several leading jewellery stores in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province in eastern China, local newspaper Oriental Guardian reported recently.
The traditional Chinese festival fell on September 8 this year. Trendy and simple platinum diamond jewellery pieces were sought after at Chow Tai Fook’s stores in the city, one of the company’s salesperson told the newspaper. Pieces from Chow Tai Fook’s Perfect Love Collection particularly, moved fast among consumers, he added.
In addition, jewellery items with auspicious meanings were popular with consumers, added one employee from Laofengxiang Jewelry display. Gold and diamond jewellery were also among Mingr Jewelry’s top-selling items, said one salesman from the jeweller.
