Fine jewellers make waves at Sept HK Fair
Some of the world’s major jewellery houses are turning heads at the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair with their impressive collections of diamond, coloured gemstone and pearl jewellery.
Ella Gafter, the creative force behind Ellagem, is presenting her high-end pearl jewellery collections at the International Premier Pavilion (IPP). All of her pieces are handmade in Italy. “You can’t ‘invent’ fine jewellery. You need experience, skills and a very refined taste to create something as divine as these,” said Ella, pointing to her one-of-a-kind South Sea pearl rings embellished with diamonds and coloured gemstones.
Talila Gafter, Ella’s daughter and business partner, noted that the September Hong Kong Fair is the ideal platform for high-end brands like Ellagem. “We love it here,” Talila said. “We are a first-time exhibitor at the fair, and we really look forward to coming back. The entire set-up is very elegant.”
Pradeep Lodha of Smart Arts Jewellery Ltd, also an IPP exhibitor, unveiled his latest lines of diamond and coloured gemstone jewellery. Most of his pieces use fancy-shaped diamonds. “Our collections are timeless,” Lodha said. “Everything is inspired by nature.”
